I Swallowed an Iron Moon

I swallowed an iron moon

they called it a screw

I swallowed industrial wastewater and unemployment forms

bent over machines, our youth died young

I swallowed labor, I swallowed poverty

swallowed pedestrian bridges, swallowed this rusted-out life

I can’t swallow any more

everything I swallowed roils up in my throat

I spread across my country

a poem of shame

Kindische Geschichten

„Alles Gute wurde verdient und aus eigener Kraft erreicht. Alles Schlechte war ein hinterhältiger Anschlag von anderen.“

Das ist die Struktur der kindischen Geschichten, die auf persönlicher Ebene als Narzissmus und auf kollektiver Ebene als Nationalismus bezeichnet werden.

Internalisierung

The nervous system arose through one internalization of sensing and signaling, and the internalization of language as a tool for thinking was another. In both cases, a means of communication between organisms became a means of communication within them. These two events bookmark cognitive evolution as it has occured to date – one near its outset and one in recent times.

KPI

There’d be established foetal standards soon, so that you could feel pressurized and backwards if your fingers hadn’t separated fully by the third trimester. Academic stress-related pre-birth suicides would become commonplace, the depressed embryos hanging themselves with their umbilical cords, farewell notes scratched onto the placenta.
